NEW YORK, N.Y. – Count LeBron James as one of the many people associated with the Los Angeles Lakers happy with the team’s NBA Draft Lottery showing.
The Lakers defied the odds of the lottery and landed the fourth overall pick. The team was expected to receive a pick somewhere in the teens.
James took to Instagram to offer a simple, yet fitting reaction to getting the No. 4 pick, posting “#4…Beautiful.”
The Lakers’ strong showing comes in the midst of talks of James being traded. However, as ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith pointed out on Monday’s “Get Up!,” the Lakers have no plans to trade James.
Likewise, James has no plan to demand a trade. After all, the No. 4 pick could help sweeten a deal between the Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans (who won the Zion Williamson sweepstakes Wednesday) for star Anthony Davis.
