Desperate police officers and passersby spent more than half an hour battling to save victims of the London Bridge terror stabbings as they waited for paramedics who were only 100 yards away.
PC Clint Wallis, a police response driver, was in Dulwich, in the southeast of the capital, when he heard that a van had hit pedestrians at the bridge and continued towards the Shard. The attack began at 10.06pm on June 3, 2017.
“Bearing in mind it was only a couple of months after Westminster, I believed it was a similar incident,” PC Wallis told an inquest at the Old Bailey today.
